Updates & Reminders:
This week in 4th grade:
English Language Arts & Social Studies: We are reading about Benjamin Franklin’s move to Philadelphia and his life as a young man in the biography The Story of Benjamin Franklin: Amazing American. We are also learning about the growth of the Pennsylvania colony and the conflicts that caused with the Native Americans (chapter 5 in the PA textbook). Our grammar focus is identifying reference materials and reviewing common/proper and plural nouns.
Spelling: Our skills focus is using proofreading skills to correct common writing mistakes.
Math: We are solving division number stories with extended division facts (like 3,500/50=70), dividing multi-digit dividends by one-digit divisors using he partial quotients algorithm, and interpreting remainders in division number stories.
Science: We are identifying electrical insulators and conductors as we conclude Investigation 2.

- We are celebrating Random Acts of Kindness Week! A group of high school students visited us today to discuss ways that we can bring happiness to others through small acts of consideration.
- Our Investigation 2 science quiz will be on Friday. Your child has a study guide, and there is a Quizlet available on our classroom website.
